Arlissa Ruppert (born September 21, 1992), known simply as Arlissa, is a talented singer-songwriter from Germany and the United Kingdom. She is famous for her emotional and soulful music.

Arlissa Ruppert, who goes by the stage name Arlissa, is a singer and songwriter. She was born in Germany and grew up in London. Her music is known for being very emotional and soulful. Starting Her Music Journey
Arlissa's music career began with her first song, "Hard to Love Somebody." A music publisher heard it and shared it with the famous rapper Nas. Nas was very impressed and decided to be featured on the song.
This song became "Record of the Week" on BBC Radio 1 in November 2012. Because of this success, Arlissa was chosen as one of the BBC's artists to watch in 2013. She was also on the longlist for the "Sound of 2013" award.
First Hit Singles
Her first official single was "Sticks & Stones", released on March 3, 2013. People called it a powerful "break-up anthem." The song did well, reaching number 48 on the UK Singles Chart. Later, in 2017, another artist, Nelly Furtado, covered "Sticks and Stones" for her album, The Ride.
Writing Songs for Others
Besides singing her own songs, Arlissa is also a successful songwriter for other artists. She helped write the popular K-pop group BTS's hit song "Spring Day." This song was a huge success, topping the Gaon Digital Chart and being downloaded over 2.5 million times. It even won 'Song of the Year' at the 2017 Melon Music Awards.
Collaborations and Film Music
In January 2018, Arlissa worked with British DJ and producer Jonas Blue. They created an electronic dance music (EDM) version of her song "Hearts Ain't Gonna Lie." In March 2018, Arlissa was named Elvis Duran's Artist of the Month. She performed an acoustic version of her single live on NBC's Today show.
Arlissa also contributed to the soundtrack of the 2018 movie The Hate U Give. This film is based on a popular book by Angie Thomas. Arlissa co-wrote and sang the song "We Won't Move" for the movie. She performed it at the film's international premiere at the 2018 Toronto Film Festival.
Recent Music and Debut Album
By 2020, Arlissa released another popular song called "Healing." On June 17, 2022, she announced the name of her first album, The Open-Hearted'. It was released on October 6, 2023. Before the album came out, she released several singles like "Pieces", "Take", "Hard to Be", "My Heart Is on the Floor", and "Audacity."
