Arnette Lamar Hallman (born October 19, 1958) is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He played college basketball for the Joliet JC Wolves and the Purdue Boilermakers. Arnette Hallman was chosen by the Boston Celtics in the 1980 NBA draft. He spent most of his professional basketball career playing in Europe.

College Basketball Journey
Arnette Hallman started his college basketball career at Joliet Junior College. Later, he moved to play for the Purdue Boilermakers. He was a starting player for both of his seasons there.
Hallman's Skills on the Court
While playing for the Boilermakers, Hallman was known for his amazing jumping and rebounding skills. He played in 67 games for Purdue, starting in 65 of them. On average, he scored 8.4 points and grabbed 5.4 rebounds per game.
Memorable College Moments
In January 1979, Hallman made headlines. He scored the winning basket against Magic Johnson's Michigan State Spartans. In 1980, Hallman and his team reached the Final Four of the NCAA Division I basketball tournament. This is a very big achievement in college basketball.
Professional Basketball Career
The Boston Celtics picked Arnette Hallman in the second round of the 1980 NBA draft. He went to their training camp but was not chosen for the main team. The Celtics sent him to their team in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA), called the Maine Lumberjacks.
Overcoming Injuries
During the 1980–81 season, Hallman faced some tough injuries. He broke his foot and then hurt his back. These injuries kept him from playing for the rest of the season. In January 1981, he went back to the Boilermakers. He helped as a volunteer assistant coach while he recovered.
Playing in Europe
From 1983 to 1984, Hallman played for the BC Giants Osnabrück in Germany. This team was part of the German Basketball Bundesliga. He also played in the FIBA Korać Cup, which is a European competition. After Germany, he spent five seasons playing for four different teams in Portugal.
Personal Life and Beyond Basketball
After he stopped playing basketball, Arnette Hallman made Germany his home. He now works as an investment banker. He also works in customer service at Frankfurt Airport. Hallman is very talented with languages and can speak six different ones.

Arnette Hallman has three sons. His oldest son, also named Arnette Hallman, is a professional basketball player too. He has played in Portugal, Spain, and France.
