History of Arpelar
Arpelar got its name from a person named Aaron Arpelar. He was a county judge in Tobucksy County, which was part of the Choctaw Nation at the time. The Choctaw Nation was a large area of land belonging to the Choctaw people before Oklahoma became a state.
A post office, where people could send and receive mail, was opened in Arpelar on February 25, 1903. However, it closed many years later on June 30, 1934.
