A Special Event: The Meteoroid
Something very unusual happened over Arroyomolinos de León. On December 8, 1932, a space rock called a meteoroid entered Earth's atmosphere.
This meteoroid was linked to a meteor shower called the δ-Arietids. It exploded high above the town. The explosion happened about 15.7 kilometers (9.8 miles) up in the sky.
The energy released was huge. It was like a very big explosion, but it happened far above the ground. This event shows how amazing space can be!
