Arthur, also known as Arthur Junction, is a small community in the state of Indiana, United States. It's located in Pike County, within Patoka Township. It is called Arthur Junction because it sits where two main roads, Indiana 61 and Indiana 64, meet. Arthur is considered a Census-designated place, which means it's an area identified by the U.S. Census Bureau for statistical purposes.
History of Arthur
The community of Arthur was named after an early settler, Arthur Thompson. A post office was opened in Arthur in 1873. It served the community for many years before closing in 1903.
