About Asaichi
Asaichi means "morning market" in Japanese. It's a lively show that talks about many different topics. The program aims to give helpful information to its viewers. It covers everything from health and money tips to cooking ideas and ways to improve daily life.
How the Show Started
Asaichi first aired on March 29, 2010. It took over from another morning show called Seikatsu Hot Morning. When it first began, the main hosts were Yumiko Udo and Yoshihiko Inohara. Yoshihiko Inohara was a member of the famous Japanese pop group V6.
The show was created to help adults, especially women in their 40s. It covered a wide range of topics that were important for their daily lives. These included health advice, money management, cooking recipes, and tips for making life easier.
Changes in Hosts
Over the years, the hosts of Asaichi have changed.
- In April 2018, Hanamaru-Daikichi Hakata and Yurie Omi became the new main presenters. They took over from Yumiko Udo and Yoshihiko Inohara.
- Later, on February 10, 2021, NHK announced another change. Yurie Omi decided to leave NHK, so she stepped down from her role.
- Naoko Suzuki, another NHK Announcer, took her place. Naoko Suzuki started her job as a co-host on March 30, 2021.
Show Format
Asaichi starts right after a popular morning drama called Renzoku Terebi Shōsetsu. The hosts usually begin by talking about the drama for a few minutes.
The program is split into two main parts:
- The first part runs from 8:15 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. JST.
- The second part is from 9:05 a.m. to 9:54 a.m. JST.
In between these two parts, there's a short news break. This news comes from NHK's News Center. If there's important breaking news during the show, Asaichi will pause so the News Center can broadcast the urgent updates.
Viewers can also share their thoughts and questions during the show. They can send comments or opinions by fax or email. Sometimes, the hosts will read out some of these messages live on air!
