Ash Atalla was born on June 18, 1972. He is a British television producer who was born in Egypt. A producer helps create TV shows and movies. Ash Atalla has worked on many popular British TV series. These include The Office, The IT Crowd, and People Just Do Nothing. He has also appeared briefly in some shows, like Ricky Gervais's Politics.

Early Life and Education

Ash Atalla grew up in a middle-class family in Cairo, Egypt. When he was a baby, he got the polio virus. Because of this, he uses a wheelchair. His family later moved to London because of his father's job.

Ash went to the University of Bath. There, he studied business and finance. After college, he worked for a short time as a stockbroker. This meant he bought and sold stocks for people. He also worked as a currency trader, dealing with different countries' money. When he was 22, he started working for free at the BBC on a show called Watchdog.

Career in Television

Ash Atalla first appeared on TV in 1999. He helped host a Channel 4 series about disability called Freak Out. In 2001, he became a producer for the comedy show The Office. This show became very famous.

In 2004, Ash joined a production company called Talkback Thames. He became the Head of Comedy there. He produced a science comedy show called Look Around You for BBC2. He also worked on the third series of Bo Selecta!.

In 2005, Ash created a new comedy sketch show called Man Stroke Woman. This show was about growing up and aired until 2007. He also produced another popular comedy, The IT Crowd, which ran from 2006 to 2010.

Roughcut TV

In 2007, Ash Atalla started his own company called Roughcut TV. This company makes TV shows independently. Roughcut TV has created many shows for major UK TV channels.

Some of their shows include Trinity for ITV2 in 2008. They also produced Trollied for Sky 1. Other shows are Cuckoo and People Just Do Nothing for BBC Three. Roughcut TV also made World's Craziest Fools with Mr. T. Ash Atalla has continued to make small appearances in shows like The IT Crowd and Dad.
