Meet Mohamad Ashari bin Samsudin! Born on June 7, 1985, he's a retired Malaysian football star. He mostly played as a right winger. He was also great as a forward or attacking midfielder.
Fans and media called him "The Silent Killer." Why? Because he was amazing at dribbling. He also had sharp vision and was super fast! This made him a huge fan favorite. Ashari spent most of his career with the Terengganu team. He played over 330 games and scored 128 goals for them!

Ashari's Football Journey
Ashari started his football journey in Bukit Payong, Marang, Terengganu. He joined the Terengganu youth team. He then moved up to the senior team in 2005.
Playing for Terengganu
Ashari quickly showed his talent with Terengganu. He scored his first senior goal in the 2005 Malaysia Cup. It was an amazing solo run and a shot from 25 meters away!
He kept scoring goals consistently for his team. In the 2009 season, he was the second-highest scorer. He scored 17 goals that year. The next year, in 2010, he did even better! He won the Golden Boot award for scoring the most goals. He netted 18 goals in the 2010 season. In 2011, he scored 10 goals.
Ashari achieved many great things with Terengganu. He helped them win the 2011 Malaysia FA Cup in 2011. They beat Kelantan in the final match. He also won a gold medal with the Terengganu youth team. This was at the Sukma Games football tournament in 2008. He was even the top scorer in that tournament! In the 2012 Malaysia League Cup Final, he scored the first goal for his team. However, they lost that game 2-1.
Time with Pahang
On November 7, 2016, Ashari signed a one-year contract. He joined the Pahang football club.
Playing for Malaysia
Ashari also played for the Malaysian national team. He played 17 games and scored 3 goals for his country. He first joined the national team in 2008.
He made his first international appearance against India. This game was on July 22, 2008. Ashari scored his first two international goals in the 2008 Pestabola Merdeka tournament. Malaysia won that game 6-0 against Afghanistan.
In 2010, Ashari was chosen to play in the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup. He scored a fantastic goal from outside the penalty box. This was against Indonesia in the first game of the final. Malaysia won that game 3-0. This helped Malaysia win the AFF Suzuki Cup for the first time ever! They won the final 4-2 on total goals.
