Ashleigh Cummings, born on November 11, 1992, is an actress from Australia. She became famous for playing Robyn Mathers in the movie Tomorrow, When the War Began. This film was based on a popular book. Ashleigh was even nominated for an award for her role in it!
She is also known for her roles as Dorothy Williams in the TV show Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. You might also know her as Debbie Vickers in Puberty Blues. Later, she played Vic McQueen in NOS4A2 and Abby Conroy in the spy series Citadel.

Early Life and Training
Ashleigh Cummings was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Her parents, who are Australian, were living and working there. When she was 12 years old, her family moved back to Australia.
From a very young age, starting at two years old, Ashleigh trained to be a ballet dancer. When she was 14, she joined the Brent Street School of Performing Arts. There, she learned both dance and acting. Ashleigh then went to Wenona School in North Sydney, where she finished school in 2010. She also studied at the film and television school Screenwise. Between her acting jobs, Ashleigh even found time to study philosophy at university!
Acting Career
Ashleigh Cummings first appeared as a dancer in the movie Razzle Dazzle: A Journey into Dance in 2007. After that, she starred as Ally Sheppard in a project called Green Fire Envy. She also had a role in the TV movie Dream Life and appeared as a guest in the soap opera Home and Away.
In 2009, it was announced that Ashleigh would be in the movie Tomorrow, When the War Began. This film was based on a book by John Marsden. To get ready for her role, Ashleigh learned how to ride dirt bikes and use AK-47 rifles! She even took her school exams early so she could film the movie. For playing Robyn Mathers, Ashleigh was nominated for Best Young Actor at the 2010 Australian Film Institute Awards.
In 2010, Ashleigh performed in the play Our Town with the Sydney Theatre Company. The next year, she appeared in TV shows like Rescue Special Ops, Underbelly: Razor, and Dance Academy. She then got the part of Dorothy "Dot" Williams in the TV drama Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Dot is a quiet, working-class character who becomes a helper to the main detective, Phryne Fisher.
In 2012, Ashleigh was cast as Debbie Vickers in the TV show Puberty Blues. She read the book the show was based on to prepare for the role. Ashleigh also took surfing lessons to play Debbie. Before filming the second season of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, she spent three weeks volunteering in South-East Asia. For her roles in Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and Puberty Blues, Ashleigh was nominated for Most Popular Actress at the Logie Awards.
Ashleigh also sang on Dan Webb's first album, Sandstorm, which came out in 2014. She starred as Billie in the movie Galore. For this role, she was nominated for an award for Best Performance by a Young Actor. In 2015, Ashleigh appeared in the TV mini-series Gallipoli. She also starred in Pork Pie, a remake of an older film.
In 2016, Ashleigh won the Heath Ledger Scholarship. This award helped her study acting in Los Angeles. She then played a main role in the movie Hounds of Love. She was also cast as Cheryl Miller in Westside, a show that tells the story before Outrageous Fortune.
Ashleigh played Pippa in The Goldfinch, a movie based on the famous book. She also had the main role of Vic McQueen in the horror TV series NOS4A2. In 2023, she started playing Abby Conroy in the spy thriller series Citadel for Amazon Prime Video.
