Early Life and Training
Ashley-Anne Lilley was born in Rothesay, on the Isle of Bute in Scotland. When she was 12 years old, she joined the National Youth Music Theatre. This is a special group for young people who love music and acting. At 15, she went to the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London. This is a famous school for performing arts. She finished her studies there in 2004.
Acting Career
Ashley-Anne Lilley has mostly worked as a stage actress, performing in plays and musicals. She has also had a few roles in films and TV shows. In 2005, she played Lucille Frank in a musical called Parade at the Edinburgh festival. After that, she joined a tour of the musical Anything Goes across the UK. In this show, she played the character Hope Harcourt. Her first movie role was as Ali in the popular film Mamma Mia! in 2008. She also appeared in a short film called Cat Eats Dog in 2009. In 2010, she was in the romantic movie Letters to Juliet. In 2011, she returned to the theatre. She starred in a new play called Nicked at the HighTide festival.
