Ashley Sampi, born on January 21, 1984, is an Indigenous Australian. He is famous for playing Australian rules football for the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). Ashley is especially known for winning the 'Mark of the Year' award in 2004.

Early Life and Football Start
Ashley grew up in Perth, Western Australia. He went to Trinity College there. He played football for the South Fremantle team before joining the AFL.
AFL Career Highlights
Ashley Sampi was chosen by the West Coast Eagles in the 2001 AFL draft. He was the sixth player picked overall. He played his first AFL game in 2002 against Geelong. In his first year, he played four games, including a final match.
Winning the Glendinning–Allan Medal
In 2003, Ashley had a great game against Fremantle. He kicked four goals, helping the Eagles win by 35 points. Judges thought he was the best player on the field. He was later given the Glendinning–Allan Medal for this amazing performance. This award is for the best player in games between the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle.
Mark of the Year
In 2004, Ashley Sampi won the famous AFL Mark of the Year award. This award is given for the most spectacular catch (mark) of the football during a game.
Grand Final Appearances
In 2005, Ashley played for the Eagles in the 2005 AFL Grand Final. This is the biggest game of the year. The Eagles played against Sydney and lost by only four points. In 2006, he played in 12 games. However, he was not chosen to play in the 2006 AFL Grand Final, which the Eagles won.
Later Career
In 2007, Ashley did not play any games for the Eagles. He faced some personal challenges that year. After the 2007 season, he left the Eagles team.
