Asisko Urmeneta Otsoa Irati, born in 1965, is a talented artist from Navarre, Spain. He is well-known for creating comic strips and graffiti art. Asisko often uses the Basque language in his work. He was born in Pamplona.
About Asisko Urmeneta
Asisko started his journey as a comic book artist with a publication called Napartheid. Later, he worked with many newspapers and magazines, especially Argia. He is also part of an art group called Zazpiak Batman.
He draws for H28, a magazine that uses humor to comment on society. He also contributes to Xabiroi Ikastolen Elkartea magazine.
Asisko even drew funny pictures, called caricatures, for the ETB1 television channel. In 2011, he helped direct a film with Juanjo Elordi. The film was called Gartxot, konkista aitzineko konkista .
His Award-Winning Work
In 2017 and 2018, Asisko Urmeneta created two comics. These were Eusklabo Alaiak and AztiHitza: Xahoren Biografikoa.
His work on AztiHitza: Xahoren Biografikoa was very special. Because of this comic, Urmeneta won a big award in 2019. He received the Euskadi Prize for Literature. This award was for his amazing illustrations in a literary work.
