Assia Ahhatt (born June 3, 1955) is a talented musician from Ukraine. She is known for playing the violin and for singing. Assia became famous around the world in 2013. Her song "If Only Tonight" was a huge hit, getting over three million views online!

Early Life and Music Training
Assia was born in Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine. She studied music at the Glier College of Music and the National Music Academy in Kyiv. These are both very respected music schools. After finishing her studies, she went to France. There, she completed an internship at The Music Academy in Nice.
Assia's Music Journey
Assia Ahhatt started her career as a solo violinist. She played for the Ukrainian National Philharmonic. She quickly became very successful. She performed in famous concert halls in Germany, France, Italy, and other European countries. She also won awards at several music festivals.
First Albums
In 1999, Assia released her first solo album, "Homo Novus." This album mixed instrumental music with modern sounds. It featured classical music that she arranged in a new, modern way. To share her music, Assia toured many big cities in Ukraine.
Assia began singing in 2002. That same year, she signed a deal with EMI records in Poland. Later, she signed another deal with Universal Poland. She recorded a song called "Where are you now?" with Polish actor Bogusław Linda. This song quickly became a hit in several European countries. Linda also appeared in the song's music video. In 2022, Assia also signed with Universal/Ukrainian Records.
Her next album, "Chocolad" (Chocolate), came out in 2003. It had songs in Russian, Polish, and French. Assia later surprised her fans by singing "Mechty" (Dreams) in a language she created herself! This song and others she wrote were on her 2005 album, "Dysha bolela" (Soul Hurts).
In 2005, Assia started a music duo called "69." She was both a producer and a songwriter for the group. They released two albums in 2006: "Goryachiy pocelui" (Hot Kiss) and "I Like It."
More albums followed, including "Я лучшая" (I Am the Best) in 2007. In 2010, she released "Angeli ne kuryat" (Angels Don't Smoke).
Collaborations and International Success
Assia is great at both singing and writing songs. She has performed with many famous musicians. These include Robert Plant, Mark Knopfler, Jean-Luc Ponty, and Pierre Blanchard. She also played with Kurt Elling and Chris Botti. She even worked with award-winning music composer Eric Serra.
Assia records her music in top studios in Europe and the West Lake Studio in Los Angeles, USA. Her first U.S. song, "If Only Tonight," was recorded there in 2013. It became a big hit in America and topped several U.S. music charts:

This song was a lively dance track with a beautiful violin solo. "Fiesta in San Juan" also appeared on Billboard's Latin Tropical Chart. Its remix quickly reached the Top 10 on Billboard's National Dance Club Chart.
The exciting music video for "Fiesta in San Juan" was filmed in Old San Juan. It showed Assia and Wisin performing together in Spanish. The video was directed by Hollywood music video director, Jessy Terrero.
Assia continued to combine her violin playing and singing. In 2016, she released her award-winning song "Disco." It was produced by Dmitry Monatik. In April 2017, Assia introduced her song "Perepletaet" to audiences in her hometown of Kyiv.
Her next song, "You Will Miss Me," came out in 2017. It was produced by Luny Tunes and recorded in Miami.
One of her biggest achievements was the album "All-In," released in 2018 in the U.S. Assia worked with Humberto Gatica, a legendary music producer. He has won 16 Grammy awards! Gatica has worked with stars like Madonna, Elton John, and Celine Dion. He knew that working with Assia would be special. On this album, Assia plays violin solos for thirteen international hit songs. A full orchestra supports her music. Assia has had many successful tours both in Ukraine and other countries.
Live Shows and Movie Music
Assia's live show, "A Music Extravaganza," was filmed in the Opera House of Kyiv. It was directed by PBS award-winning producer Gene Bortnick. The show was shown on PBS stations across America from June 2019 to early 2020. It was so popular that it aired again in September 2020.
While on tour for "A Music Extravaganza," Assia thought of her new album, "A Date at the Movies." This album was released in August 2020. In it, Assia invites listeners to enjoy music from famous movies. The album features new classical arrangements of songs by big stars. These include Barbra Streisand, Elvis Presley, Celine Dion, and Lady Gaga. This music helps people remember important and emotional moments in their lives. The producers of "A Date at the Movies" include 17-time Grammy winner Humberto Gatica, Yurii Shepeta, Assia Ahhatt, and 2-time Grammy winner, Al Walser.
