What Does it Look Like?
The Bald Mountain milkvetch is a plant that grows upright. It can reach up to 50 centimeters (about 20 inches) tall. This plant is a perennial herb, which means it comes back to life year after year.
Its leaves can be up to 12 centimeters (about 5 inches) long. Each leaf is made up of many smaller, oval-shaped or rounded leaflets.
The plant produces a cluster of 10 to 25 greenish-white flowers. After the flowers, it grows a special kind of seed pod called a legume pod. This pod curves and dries to a thick, papery texture. When it's dry, it turns black.
