Astrid Fina Paredes (born October 16, 1983, in Barcelona, Spain) is an amazing Spanish Paralympic snowboarder. She is known for her incredible spirit and determination. One of her biggest achievements is winning a silver medal at the Snowboarding World Cup. She has also proudly represented Spain in the Winter Paralympic Games.

Starting a New Path
In May 2009, Astrid had a serious motorcycle accident. Because of this, her right foot had to be amputated. This was a very difficult time for her.
Instead of giving up, Astrid found a new passion. In 2011, she started practicing snowboarding. Just one year later, in 2012, she was already good enough to join the Spanish national team!
Her Achievements in Snowboarding
Astrid Fina has achieved many great things in her snowboarding career. She has competed in various national and international events.
World Cup and Championships
In 2015, Astrid showed her talent by placing fourth in the World Cup. That same year, she won a gold medal in the Spanish championships. She also earned second place in the national opening events in Italy. On top of that, she was the winner in the French championships.
In the 2017 World Cup, Astrid continued to shine. She won a medal in all four events she entered in her category. These events included two snowboard cross races and two banked slalom races.
Paralympic Games
Astrid has represented Spain at the highest level of Paralympic sport.
Sochi 2014 Winter Paralympics
She participated in the 2014 Winter Paralympics held in Sochi, Russia. There, she earned an Olympic diploma for her sixth-place finish in snowboard cross. This was a great achievement for her and for Spain.
Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Paralympics
Astrid was also one of three Spanish athletes who competed in the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. She had the special honor of being the flag bearer for Spain during the opening ceremony. This means she led her country's team into the stadium. At these Games, she won a bronze medal in snowboard cross, which was a fantastic result!
