Atlantic Motorsport Park (often called AMP) is a special place for car and motorcycle racing. It's located near Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia, in Canada. This track has 11 turns and opened in August 1974. It covers a large area, about 1.17 square kilometers (116.56 hectares).

History of Atlantic Motorsport Park

One cool thing about AMP is that it was built and run by volunteers. These volunteers are people who love motorsports, like car, snowmobile, and motorcycle racing. They have been running the track since it opened in 1974.

AMP has hosted many important car races. These include the Formula Atlantic series and even a NASCAR race back in the 1970s. A famous Canadian racer named Gilles Villeneuve set the fastest lap record here in 1975. He completed a lap in just 60 seconds! The track also hosted the Canadian Honda Civic Challenge in the 1980s.

Today, AMP is home to a big motorcycle race each year. It hosts one of the final rounds of the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship.

From May to October, the track is very busy. Many local motorcycle and car clubs use it for their activities.

  • The Atlantic Roadracing League ([1]) holds motorcycle races.
  • The Atlantic Region Motor Sports Club (ARMS) ([2]) uses the track for car races.
  • The Atlantic Sports Car Club (ASCC) ([3]) hosts SoloSprint events. They even hosted the Canadian SoloSprint Championship in 2009.

You can also find special driving schools at AMP. These schools teach people how to drive high-performance cars or how to race safely.

The CASC Atlantic Championship Races

Atlantic Motorsport Park hosted the CASC Player's Challenge Series, also known as the Atlantic Championship. This exciting race series took place at AMP from 1974 to 1977, and then again in 1979.
