The Atlético Reynosa Fútbol Club was a Mexican soccer team. They were based in the city of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The club started in 2012 as Reynosa Fútbol Club. In 2017, they changed their name to Atlético Reynosa. From 2012 to 2020, the team played in Serie A of the Liga Premier. In 2020, the team stopped playing because of money problems. They did not officially close down, but they stopped playing indefinitely. In 2022, the team's license was sold to C.D.S. Tampico Madero. This meant Atlético Reynosa could not return to play.

History
How the Team Started
The team began in 2012. It was first called Reynosa F.C.. The plan was for them to play in the Ascenso MX. This was a higher league. However, they ended up in the Liga Premier de Ascenso. This was the third level of Mexican soccer. They could not find a spot in the second league.
The club's first game was a friendly match. It was played on August 14, 2012. They played against Dorados de Sinaloa. For their first few seasons, they played at the Estadio Adolfo López Mateos. Later, the team started building a new stadium.
A New Stadium
On September 27, 2013, the team's new stadium opened. It was located in the Unidad Deportiva Solidaridad. This became their home field.
Name Change and Challenges
On June 19, 2017, new owners bought Reynosa F.C. They changed the team's name to Atlético Reynosa. The club's colors also changed. They went from red, green, and white to blue and white.
In 2020, the team tried to join the new Liga de Expansión MX. This league became the second-highest in Mexican soccer. But Atlético Reynosa was not allowed to join. There were problems with their stadium. Because of this, the club had to stay in the Liga Premier de México.
After this, the team stopped playing. They faced money problems. Many sponsors stopped supporting the club. This happened because the team did not get into the Liga de Expansión.
Between 2012 and 2015, the club had a linked team. It was called Topos de Reynosa. This team played in Liga de Nuevos Talentos. Later, it was sold and became Tigrillos de Chetumal.
