Attaphol Buspakom (nicknamed "Tak") was a famous Thai football player and coach. He was born on October 1, 1962, in Chonburi, Thailand. He passed away on April 16, 2015, in Bangkok.
Attaphol was well-known for his skills as a midfielder. He played for the Thailand national football team and later became a successful coach for many top clubs in Thailand.

Playing Career Highlights
Attaphol started his football journey as a player in 1985. He played for Thai Port FC (then called Port Authority of Thailand). In his first year, he helped his team win a championship.
He also won the Queen's Cup with Thai Port in 1987. Later, he played for Pahang FA in Malaysia for two seasons. He then returned to Thai Port.
From 1994 to 1996, he played for Pahang again. During this time, he helped them win the Malaysia Super League. He also reached the finals of the Malaysia Cup and Malaysia FA Cup, but his team lost both.
He finished his playing career at FC Stock Exchange of Thailand. He retired from playing football in 1998.
Playing for Thailand
Attaphol was a key player for the Thailand national football team. He played 85 games and scored 13 goals between 1985 and 1998.
In 1992, he played with the national team in the finals of the Asian Cup. He also took part in several qualifying matches for the FIFA World Cup.
Coaching Career
After his playing career, Attaphol became a football coach. He was known for leading teams to success.
BEC Tero Sasana Success
Attaphol began coaching at BEC Tero Sasana F.C. in 2001. He started as an assistant coach. He soon became the head coach.
He led the club to the final of the AFC Champions League in 2002-03. This was a huge achievement for a Thai club. BEC Tero Sasana lost the final but showed great skill. Attaphol is one of only two coaches to lead a Thai club to this final.
He also helped the club finish as runner-up in the Thai League T1 twice. Many talented players were in his team, like Therdsak Chaiman and Worrawoot Srimaka.
Coaching in Singapore and Thailand
In 2006, Attaphol coached Geylang United in Singapore. After a short time, he returned to Thailand.
In 2008, he became the coach for Krung Thai Bank F.C.. This team also played in the AFC Champions League. He helped them win a group match 9-1 against a Vietnamese club.
Muangthong United's Championship
In 2009, Attaphol joined Muangthong United F.C.. He led them to win the 2009 Thai Premier League championship.
Because of this success, he was named Coach of The Year for Thai Premier League. He also helped Muangthong United play in the 2010 AFC Champions League qualifying play-off for the first time.
Buriram United's Trophies
Attaphol moved to Buriram United F.C. in 2010. He had great success there. He won the "Coach of the Month" award twice.
In 2011, he led Buriram United to win the 2011 Thai Premier League title. They set a new record for the most points in the league. He also guided them to win the 2011 Thai FA Cup and the 2011 Thai League Cup.
In 2012, he led Buriram United into the group stage of the 2012 AFC Champions League. They played against champions from China, Japan, and South Korea. Buriram United also won the 2012 Thai FA Cup and 2012 Thai League Cup that year.
Later Coaching Roles
In 2013, Attaphol moved to coach Bangkok Glass F.C.. He later coached Police United F.C. from 2014 to 2015.
Personal Life
Attaphol Buspakom had two sons, Wannaphon Buspakom and Kanokpon Buspakom. Both of them also became professional football players.
His Passing
Attaphol Buspakom passed away on April 16, 2015. He was 52 years old. He died at Rama 9 Hospital in Bangkok after battling a blood infection. At the time, he was still working as the manager for Police United F.C..
