Auntwan Demone Riggins (born June 17, 1976) is an American college baseball coach. He is currently the head coach for the Prairie View A&M Panthers baseball team. He has been coaching the Panthers since 2016.
Coach Riggins' Journey
From Player to Coach
Auntwan Riggins was born in Lufkin, Texas. Before becoming a coach, he was a baseball player himself! He played as an Outfielder. He played college baseball at Texas Southern University from 1996 to 1998.
After college, he played for several professional baseball teams. These included the Medicine Hat Blue Jays and the St. Catharines Stompers. He also played for teams like the Hagerstown Suns, Fort Wayne Wizards, and Portland Beavers.
Coaching at Prairie View A&M
Coach Riggins became the head coach for the Prairie View A&M Panthers baseball team in 2016. The Panthers play in the SWAC.
Under his leadership, the team has had many seasons. In 2021, the Panthers won the SWAC West division championship. This was a big achievement for the team!
As of 2024, his overall coaching record is 159 wins and 267 losses. In the SWAC tournament, his record is 8 wins and 14 losses.
