Aureliano Maestre de San Juan (born October 17, 1828 – died June 1, 1890) was an important Spanish scientist. He was a doctor who studied the human body's structure (an anatomist) and its tiny tissues (a histologist).
He is well-known for being one of the first scientists to recognize a health condition called Kallmann syndrome. This condition affects how the body develops. Sadly, he passed away in 1890 after a laboratory accident two years earlier caused him to lose his eyesight.
