Early Life and Education
Austin Crute was born in Norcross, Georgia. His father was a pastor. When he was 15, in 2011–2012, Austin appeared on a TV show. It was a reality competition called Majors & Minors. He also sang on the music album that came from the show.
He finished high school in 2014. He went to Greater Atlanta Christian School. Later, he graduated from New York University in 2018.
Acting Career
Austin Crute has played many interesting characters. In 2019, he was Alan in the movie Booksmart. This film was the first movie directed by Olivia Wilde. He also played Wesley Fists in the Netflix series Daybreak. This show is about a world after a big event.
Before these roles, he had a guest appearance on the FX show Atlanta. He played a character known as "Black Justin Bieber".
Some of his other movie roles include Khalil in Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul. (2022) and Jack in Tankhouse (2022). He also played Toby in the 2022 movie They/Them. In 2024, he was Morris Martin in The Greatest Hits.
On television, besides Atlanta and Daybreak, he was Lamar in an episode of Orange Is the New Black in 2018. He also appeared in 3 episodes of Trinkets in 2020. In 2021, he had a main role as Lane in Call Your Mother.
