Avellaneda is a small town in Spain. It is a type of local government area called a municipality. You can find Avellaneda in the province of Ávila. This province is part of the larger region known as Castile and León.
Avellaneda is located in a judicial district called Piedrahita. It covers an area of about 10.39 square kilometers. In 2004, about 40 people lived there. This means there were about 3.85 people for every square kilometer. The town is also part of a region called Alto Tormes.
History of Avellaneda
Before the year 1833, Spain changed how its provinces were organized. Before this change, Avellaneda was part of the province of Salamanca. This was true for the entire Alto Tormes region.
Local Government
The leader of a municipality is called a mayor. As of 2016, the mayor of Avellaneda was Vicente Martín Hernández. The mayor helps manage the town and its services.
