Avon is a small community located in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP), which means it's an area identified by the government for gathering population information.
In 2020, about 1,676 people lived in Avon. This number has changed over the years. In 2010, the population was 1,667, and back in 2000, it was 2,856.

Where is Avon Located?
Avon is found in the middle part of Lebanon County. Most of the community is in South Lebanon Township. A small part of it also reaches into North Lebanon Township.
Avon is close to other places. To its northwest, you'll find the city of Lebanon. To the west, it borders another community called Hebron. The Avon area includes the smaller neighborhoods of Avon and Avon Heights.
Roads and Rivers
A main road, U.S. Route 422, also known as East Cumberland Street, goes right through Avon. If you travel west on this road, you'll reach the center of Lebanon city. If you go east, you can travel about 27 miles (43 kilometers) to Reading.
The state capital, Harrisburg, is about 30 miles (48 kilometers) to the west. You can get there by taking US-422 and then US-322.
Avon covers an area of about 3.56 square kilometers (1.38 square miles). All of this area is land. Water from the community flows southwest into Quittapahilla Creek. This creek then flows west through Lebanon and eventually joins Swatara Creek. Swatara Creek then flows into the large Susquehanna River.

The population of Avon has been counted by the U.S. Census Bureau over the years. In 2000, there were 2,856 people living in Avon. These people lived in 854 households, and 615 of those were families.
