Ayu Lestari Putri Gani, born on August 13, 1991, is a famous model from Indonesia. She is well-known for winning the third season of Asia's Next Top Model. This made her the first person from Indonesia to win the popular TV show.

Ayu Gani's Early Life
Ayu Gani was born in Nganjuk, a city in East Java, Indonesia. Her family later moved to Yogyakarta. She studied English literature at Sanata Dharma University. Ayu even received a special scholarship to study in Cincinnati, Ohio, for a year because of her musical talent. After that, she moved back to Jakarta. She is now studying fashion business at LaSalle College Jakarta.
How Ayu Gani Started Modeling
Ayu Gani began her modeling journey by joining a competition called "Wajah Femina". In this contest, she won the title of "The Most Favorite". After her win, she walked in many fashion shows across Indonesia. She also became a special icon for Jakarta Fashion Week 2012.
Ayu has appeared on the covers and pages of many magazines. These include Surface Magazine, Femina Indonesia, Grazia, Nylon, and HighEnd. After winning Asia's Next Top Model (season 3), she was also featured in Harper's Bazaar Singapore. She has also modeled for the fashion brand Zalora.
Winning Asia's Next Top Model
Ayu Gani was one of 14 contestants on the third season of Asia's Next Top Model. She was one of three models representing Indonesia. The other two were Tahlia Raji and Rani Ramadhany.
Ayu received the "best photo" award three times during the competition. This happened in weeks 2, 6, and 12. Only Monika Sta. Maria had more "best photo" wins with four. Ayu Gani won the entire competition. She competed against Monika Sta. Maria and Aimee Cheng-Bradshaw in the final.
What Ayu Gani Won
As the winner of Asia's Next Top Model, Ayu Gani received several exciting prizes. She won a new Subaru XV STI car. She also got to be on the cover of Harper's Bazaar Singapore magazine. Another big prize was a modeling contract with Storm Model Management in London. Finally, she won a campaign with the hair care brand TRESemmé.
Ayu Gani's Career After the Show
Since winning Asia's Next Top Model, Ayu Gani has continued her successful modeling career. She has worked on many projects in Europe. These include photo shoots for commercials and magazine features. She also appeared in The Body Shop's winter campaign.
In 2017, Ayu worked with an Indonesian fashion brand called Minimal. More recently, in 2021, she appeared on the reality competition show Indonesia's Next Top Model. On this show, she became a judge for two different seasons.
