What is B&B About?

This section tells you all about the story of B&B. It explains how the main characters get into a tricky situation. It also shows how they try to solve their problems.

Starting a New Business

The story begins with Steve Shepherd, played by Kevin Whately. Steve loses his job at an architecture company. He disagreed with his boss, Horace Gilbert, about some building plans.

Now without a job, Steve needs a way to support himself and his daughter, Alice. He decides to turn their big house into a bed and breakfast. This means they will rent out rooms to guests.

A Tricky Situation

Steve's old boss, Horace Gilbert, soon finds out about the B&B. It turns out Steve's house is right where Horace wants to build a new project. Horace needs Steve and his house gone to continue his plans.

Meanwhile, Steve's B&B starts doing well. One of his first guests is Billie Golden, played by Katy Murphy. Billie is a street performer who doesn't have money to pay her bill. Steve offers her a deal: she can stay and work at the B&B for free.

Horace's Bad Plans

Horace Gilbert tries to get Steve to leave his house. When his legal attempts fail, he tries to trick Billie. He offers her a cool motorbike if she helps him ruin the B&B. His plan is for Billie to flood the house. This would make it impossible to live in.

But Billie's attempt to flood the B&B doesn't work. Horace then decides to do something even worse. He plans to burn the house down! Luckily, his secretary finds out about his terrible plan. She realizes he has gone too far. She tells the police, and Horace is arrested while trying to set the fire.
