Bétera (Valencian pronunciation: [ˈbeteɾa]) is a town in Spain. It is located in the Valencian Community, which is a part of Spain. Bétera is also part of a region called Camp de Túria.

With about 23,647 people living there (as of 2018), Bétera is the second largest town in the Camp de Túria area. It is also part of the bigger Valencia metropolitan area.

Bétera is found on the southern side of the Serra Calderona mountains. It is about 15 kilometers (9 miles) away from the city of Valencia. The Mediterranean Sea is also not far, about 23 kilometers (14 miles) away.

The town sits on the edge of a fertile farming area called L'Horta. Bétera's land is a bit hilly, with its highest point reaching 156 meters (512 feet) above sea level.

Bétera's Special Climate

Because Bétera is located between the sea and the mountains, it has a special "microclimate." This means it has a milder climate than other places nearby. The main winds that blow here are called Levant and Ponente. Most of the rain in Bétera falls during autumn and spring.

Getting Around Bétera

Bétera is easy to reach because it's close to Valencia. There are several roads that connect it to other towns and cities. For example, the Burjassot-Torres Torres road and the Bétera-Olocau road.

You can also use public transport. Bétera has one of the main stations for Metro Line 1 of Valencia. This train line connects Bétera to Valencia city. There is also another stop called Sanatori Psiquiàtric that serves the town.
