The Start of a Music Journey: Carl Badwa's Early Career
Carl Badwa began his exciting music career in 1985. Just two years later, in 1987, he joined a group called the Get Loose Crew. This was an important step in his journey as a musician and performer.
Celebrating Success: B-Kool's Awards and Recognition
B-Kool has achieved great things in his music career. In 1990, he shared a special award called a Juno Award with the group Simply Majestic. They won for "Best R&B Soul Recording" for their song "Dance to the Music." The Juno Awards are like the Grammy Awards for Canadian music!
In the same year, B-Kool also helped record a song called "Can't Repress the Cause." This song was released by a group called Dance Appeal. The purpose of this song was to help more hip hop music become popular in Canada. It showed how artists worked together to support their music style.
Later, in 1994, B-Kool was nominated for another Juno Award. This nomination was for his song "Gotta Get Over," which came from his solo album Mellow Madness.
New Beginnings: Don Carlito's Comeback
After some time, B-Kool returned to performing in 2003. He started using a new stage name, "Don Carlito." His first release under this new name was an EP (which is like a mini-album) called What’s The D.E.A.L.
Don Carlito continued to make new music. In 2013, he worked with another artist, Frank Morell, to release a song called "Fire." They teamed up again in 2016 to release another project titled "Reloaded."
