B. J. Emmons was born on July 3, 1997. He is an American professional football player. He plays as a running back for the Calgary Stampeders. This team is part of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Before joining the CFL, Emmons played college football at three different schools. These were Florida Atlantic, Hutchinson Community College, and Alabama. He also spent time with several NFL teams. These included the Seattle Seahawks, Las Vegas Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Houston Texans. He also played in the USFL for the Tampa Bay Bandits.

Early Life and High School Football
B. J. Emmons grew up in Morganton, North Carolina. He went to Freedom High School. He was an amazing football player there.
In his junior year, he ran for 2,348 yards. He also scored 38 touchdowns. As a senior, he was even better. He rushed for 2,417 yards and scored 41 touchdowns. He also caught passes and scored on punt returns, kickoff returns, and even an interception return.
Emmons was named the best offensive player in his conference. He also made the NCPreps.com All-State team. He helped his team win their conference title three years in a row.
Many colleges wanted Emmons to play for them. He was considered a "four-star prospect." This means he was one of the top high school players in the country. He first chose to play for Georgia. But he later changed his mind. On July 20, 2015, he decided to play for Alabama.
College Football Journey
Emmons started his college career at Alabama in 2016. He played in seven games. He ran for 173 yards and scored one touchdown. Unfortunately, he got a foot injury that ended his season early. After that season, he decided to transfer to a different school.
In 2017, he transferred to Hutchinson Community College. There, he continued to play well. He ran for 694 yards and scored 10 touchdowns.
Emmons did not play football in 2018. Then, in 2019, he transferred again to Florida Atlantic. In his very first game there, he broke his ankle. This injury kept him out for most of the season. He returned for the Conference USA Championship Game. In that game, he scored two touchdowns against UAB. As a junior, he had 237 rushing yards and six touchdowns. In 2020, he played four games and gained 116 yards with one touchdown.

Time in the NFL
On May 1, 2021, the Seattle Seahawks signed Emmons. He was not drafted by any team, meaning he joined as a free agent. However, the Seahawks released him in June.
Later that year, on July 29, 2021, the Las Vegas Raiders signed him. He played well in preseason games, rushing for 90 yards and a touchdown. But he did not make their main team roster. He was then signed to their practice squad but was released in September.
Emmons returned to the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad on November 24, 2021. But he was released again a few days later. On December 7, 2021, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed him to their practice squad. He was released by them in January 2022.
In August 2022, Emmons signed with the Houston Texans. However, he was released by them just five days later.
Playing in the USFL
Emmons was chosen by the Tampa Bay Bandits in the 2022 USFL draft. The USFL is another professional football league in the United States. He was inactive for one game but was later moved back to the active roster.
Moving to the CFL
On October 2, 2022, Emmons signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. This team plays in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He spent time on their practice roster but did not play in a regular season game. He signed an extension with them in January 2023 but was released in June 2023.
Finally, on December 11, 2023, Emmons signed with the Calgary Stampeders. He is currently a running back for this CFL team.
