B. Subhashan Reddy (born March 2, 1943 – died May 1, 2019) was an important judge in India. He served as the top judge, called the Chief Justice, in several High Courts of India. He also led the first Human Rights Commission in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Early Life and Education
B. Subhashan Reddy was born in 1943 in a place called Bagh Amberpet in Hyderabad. He went to school in Hyderabad at Sultan Bazar and Chadarghat High Schools. Later, he studied at New Science College. He then went to Osmania University to study law.
Becoming a Judge
After finishing his law studies in 1966, Reddy started working as a lawyer. He practiced law in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. He handled many different types of cases, including those about the country's laws, civil matters, and taxes. He also worked on cases in the highest court, the Supreme Court of India.
On November 25, 1991, he was appointed as a Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. This was a big step in his career.
Leading High Courts
Reddy became a Chief Justice, which is the head judge of a High Court. On September 12, 2001, he was made Chief Justice of the Madras High Court. This court is in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Later, on November 21, 2004, he was transferred. He became the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court. He retired from this important role on March 2, 2005.
Serving the People
After retiring as a Chief Justice, B. Subhashan Reddy continued to serve the public. He became the first Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission. This group works to protect the rights of people.
In October 2012, he took on another important role. He became the Lokayukta of Andhra Pradesh. A Lokayukta is like an ombudsman. They investigate complaints from the public against government officials. This helps ensure fairness and honesty.
B. Subhashan Reddy passed away on May 1, 2019, in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
