Becoming Prime Minister
Baciro Djá first became Prime Minister on August 20, 2015. He resigned from this role on September 9, 2015, after only 20 days. He stepped down because the Supreme Court decided his appointment was not correct. They said that the parliament was not properly asked for their opinion before he took the job.
He was later expelled from the PAIGC party on November 20, 2016. This happened because some believed he did not follow the party's rules when he tried to become prime minister.
