Baghdad Governorate, also called Baghdad Province, is a special region in Iraq. It is home to Baghdad, the country's capital city. This area includes the city itself and its surrounding neighborhoods. Even though it's one of Iraq's smallest provinces, it has the most people living in it.

Baghdad Governorate is one of the most developed areas in Iraq. It has good roads and buildings. The city of Baghdad is divided by the Tigris River. At least 12 bridges connect the eastern and western parts of the city. The northeastern part of the governorate also includes some Mesopotamian Marshes.
