Her Journey in Music
Bahamadia grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She went to several high schools there in the 1980s. While she was still in high school, she started taking hip hop music very seriously. She was inspired by groups like The Cold Crush Brothers and artists like Schoolly D.
Around that time, Bahamadia began performing as a DJ, playing music for crowds. She became known for her skills. In 1993, Guru from the famous hip hop group Gang Starr noticed her talent. This happened after she released a song on an EP called Funk Vibes. This helped her get more attention in the music world.
Her Music Albums and Songs
Bahamadia has released several albums and many songs throughout her career. Her first album, Kollage, came out in 1996. It was released by Chrysalis and EMI Records. This album helped her become well-known in the hip hop scene.
Later, in 2000, she released an EP titled BB Queen. An EP is like a mini-album with fewer songs than a full album. In 2005, she released another full album called Good Rap Music.
She has also released many individual songs, known as singles. Some of her popular singles include "Uknowhowwedu" and "I Confess," both released in the mid-1990s. These songs helped show off her unique rapping style and thoughtful lyrics.
