In 2016, the famous entertainer Justin Timberlake became involved with Bai. He invested in the company and became their "chief flavor officer." This meant he helped with new flavors.
On November 22, 2016, a big company called Dr Pepper Snapple Bottling Group bought Bai Brands. They paid $1.7 billion for it. The deal was finished on January 31, 2017.
Super Bowl Commercials
Soon after being bought, Bai aired its first national TV commercial. This happened on February 5, 2017, during Super Bowl LI. They had already done well with a regional commercial during the Super Bowl the year before. Bai spent about $5 million on the new ad. It featured both Justin Timberlake and actor Christopher Walken.
In 2023, Bai also worked with actress Sydney Sweeney. They created a new raspberry lemon lime flavored drink together.
Questions About Antioxidants
In 2014, some people raised questions about Bai Brands. They said that Bai might have made misleading claims about how many antioxidants were in its Bai5 Antioxidant Infusion drinks. A judge allowed some of these questions to be looked into further in 2015.
