Barbara Mulwana was born around 1965 in Uganda. She is a skilled electrical engineer and computer scientist. Today, she is the leader of the Uganda Manufacturers' Association. This group helps many factories and businesses in Uganda.
Barbara Mulwana also works as a top leader at "Nice House of Plastics." This company is part of the Mulwana Group of Companies, which is her family's business group. She took over as chairperson of the Uganda Manufacturers' Association in May 2017.
Early Life and School
Barbara Mulwana was born in Uganda around 1965. Her parents were Sarah and James Mulwana. Her father, James Mulwana, was a very successful businessman in Uganda. He owned many industries.
Barbara went to Northwestern University in the United States. There, she earned a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. This means she learned how to design electrical systems and work with computers. She also has a special certificate from the Kellogg School of Management.
Her Career Journey
Barbara Mulwana started her career at a company called Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. She worked there as an engineer until 1991.
In 1991, she joined Nice House of Plastics. Her father had started this company. Barbara first led the sales and marketing team. Later, she became the executive director, which is a very important leadership role.
In May 2017, Barbara Mulwana was chosen to lead the Uganda Manufacturers' Association. This association helps over 600 Ugandan factories and businesses. It gives them advice and speaks up for them.

Barbara Mulwana is married and has three children. She has two daughters named Grace and Sarah. She also has a son named James.

Ms. Mulwana also serves on the boards of several other companies in Uganda. Being on a board means she helps make important decisions for these companies.
She is on the board of Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited. She also helps lead Uganda Batteries Limited and Jesa Farm Diary. These two companies are also part of her family's Mulwana Group. Additionally, she is on the board of Jubilee Insurance Company Uganda Limited.
