The company is owned by Quadrant Private Equity. There are more than 90 Barbeques Galore stores across Australia. Some authorized dealers also sell their products in other countries.

The Story of Barbeques Galore
Barbeques Galore was started by Max Mason in Sydney, Australia, in 1976. The company grew quickly. In 1980, it opened its first store in the United States. This store was in Santa Fe Springs, near Los Angeles.
For ten years, Barbeques Galore was listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. This meant people could buy shares in the company. In 1996, it stopped being listed in Australia. Soon after, it was listed on the US Nasdaq stock market.
In late 2005, an Australian company called Ironbridge Capital bought Barbeques Galore. They then split the Australian and US parts of the business. They became two separate companies, but Ironbridge Capital still owned both.
The US part of Barbeques Galore faced big financial problems. This was partly because fewer new houses were being built. In August 2008, Barbeques Galore USA had to file for special protection to reorganize its business. Its assets were then bought by Grand Home Holdings in September 2008.
In 2016, the Australian Barbeques Galore company was bought by Quadrant Private Equity. By 2019, Barbeques Galore's sales were nearly $200 million.
The company started a big change in 2020. They launched a new TV ad campaign called ‘Now you’re cooking’. They also began opening new stores with a fresh design. These new stores made shopping more fun. Barbeques Galore also added new products, like fresh BBQ meats in some stores.
Later in 2020, Inside Retail magazine named Barbeques Galore one of the 20 coolest retailers. In 2021, Barbeques Galore won a Gold award at the Sydney Design Awards. This was for their new store design in Everton Park. In 2022, they won an award at the Australian Retail Innovators Awards. This was for their new BBQ Legends loyalty program.
In 2022, the company shared its plans for growth. They planned to open more new stores. They also wanted to offer more products in stores and online. They also planned to invest more in their computer systems.
Barbeques Galore was named ‘Medium Retailer of the Year’ in 2024. This award came from the Australian Retail Association. In the same year, they also won a Good Design Award. This was for their portable Ziggy Elite grill.
