Bargas is a town in Spain. It is located in the province of Toledo. This area is part of the Castilla–La Mancha region.
The town covers an area of about 89.71 square kilometers. As of January 1, 2020, around 10,535 people lived there.

History of Bargas
Early Beginnings
Bargas started to grow again around July 1117. This was even though there were attacks by the Almoravid people. The first town in this area was called "Valdeolivas." However, it was later abandoned.
Local Traditions
Bargas has a long and strong tradition of making bread. This shows how important farming and local crafts were to the town.
Important Events
In September 1792, people who were against the French Revolution arrived in the village. This was a time of big changes in Europe.
A major step for Bargas was the opening of a railway line in 1881. This line connected Madrid to Lisbon. It made travel and trade much easier for the town.
In 1907, a Socialist meeting place, called a Casa del pueblo, was opened. This was a place for people to gather and discuss ideas.
