The Baron Kilmarnock is an important title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. This means it is a special rank given by the British monarch. The title is connected to the town of Kilmarnock in Scotland.
The title was first created in 1831 by King William IV. It was given to William Hay, 18th Earl of Erroll. This was like bringing back an older Kilmarnock title. That older title had belonged to William Hay's great-grandfather, William Boyd, 4th Earl of Kilmarnock. His titles were taken away in 1746.
For a long time, the Baron Kilmarnock title was a smaller title connected to the "Earl of Erroll" title. This continued until 1941. At that time, the 22nd Earl of Erroll passed away. The Earl of Erroll title could be passed down to daughters. So, his daughter, Diana Hay, 23rd Countess of Erroll, became the next Countess.
However, the Baron Kilmarnock title could only be passed down to male family members. So, it went to the Earl's younger brother, who became the 6th Baron. He changed his last name from Hay to Boyd that same year. Today, the 8th Baron Kilmarnock is Robin Boyd. He became Baron in 2009 after his older brother passed away.
The Barons Kilmarnock are also the traditional leaders, or Clan Chiefs, of Clan Boyd.

- Victor Alexander Sereld Hay, 21st Earl of Erroll, 4th Baron Kilmarnock (1876–1928)
- Josslyn Victor Hay, 22nd Earl of Erroll, 5th Baron Kilmarnock (1901–1941)
Later Barons (1941-Present)
- Gilbert Allan Rowland Boyd, 6th Baron Kilmarnock (1903–1975). He was the brother of the 22nd Earl of Erroll.
- Alastair Ivor Gilbert Boyd, 7th Baron Kilmarnock (1927–2009). He was the son of the 6th Baron.
- Robin Jordan Boyd, 8th Baron Kilmarnock (1941-). He is the brother of the 7th Baron and the current holder of the title.
The person expected to inherit the title next is the current Baron's son, Hon. Simon John Boyd (born in 1978).
