Baron Kinross facts for kids
The title of Baron Kinross is a special noble rank in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. This means it's a title given to important people in the UK. The title was first created on 15 July 1902 for a Scottish lawyer named John Balfour. He was also a Liberal politician and held a very important job as the Lord President of the Court of Session, which is like being the chief judge in Scotland.
John Balfour's grandson, the third Baron, became a well-known writer and journalist. As of 2019, the current holder of the title is the fifth Baron, Christopher Patrick Balfour. He inherited the title from his father in 1985.
All four Barons who have passed away are buried in a special area called Lords Row in Dean Cemetery in Edinburgh, Scotland.
