Bart the Bear 2, also known as Bart the Bear II or Little Bart, was a famous male grizzly bear actor. He was born on January 20, 2000, and sadly passed away on November 14, 2021. Bart 2 starred in many movies and TV shows, including An Unfinished Life, Into the Wild, Evan Almighty, We Bought a Zoo, and Game of Thrones.
His trainers, Doug and Lynne Seus, from Wasatch Rocky Mountain Wildlife, Inc., in Heber City, Utah, helped him become a movie star. Bart 2 was named after another well-known bear actor, Bart the Bear, who was also trained by the Seuses. Even though they shared a name, the two bears were not related.

Bart's Early Life and Adoption
Bart 2 and his sister, Honey Bump, were born in January 2000. When they were just a few months old, they became orphans. Their mother was shot and killed near Paxson, Alaska. An Alaskan State Trooper named Gregory Fisher found the cubs. Since they were too young to survive alone, they lived with the Fisher family for a short time.
Doug and Lynne Seus officially adopted Bart 2 and Honey Bump on April 26, 2000. The original Bart the Bear passed away just two weeks after the cubs were adopted. Doug Seus decided to name the new male cub "Bart 2" because he saw that the young bear had a similar personality and many good qualities like the first Bart.
First Movie Role and TV Shows
In the same year he was adopted, Bart 2 made his first movie appearance. He and Honey Bump were in Dr. Dolittle 2. They played the cubs of a bear character named "Archie." Another bear trained by the Seuses, named Tank, played Archie.
Bart 2 and Honey Bump's younger years were featured in two episodes of the Animal Planet show Growing Up....
- Growing Up Grizzly (2001) was hosted by Brad Pitt. It showed the cubs' first year of life.
- A second episode, Growing Up Grizzly 2 (2004), was hosted by Jennifer Aniston. This episode updated viewers on how Bart and Honey Bump were doing.
When he was a cub and a young adult, Bart 2 was often called "Little Bart." But as he grew, he became very large. He reached 8 feet 6 inches (2.59 m) tall and weighed 1,100 pounds (500 kg). After that, people usually called him "Bart" or "Bart the Bear," sometimes adding "2" or "II."
Bart's Amazing Career
Just like the first Bart the Bear, Bart 2 became a big star in Hollywood films and TV shows. He also worked as an ambassador for the Vital Ground Foundation. This organization helps protect important habitats for wildlife.
Bart 2 worked with many famous actors, including Kevin James, Emile Hirsch, and Matt Damon. One of his most talked-about appearances was in 2013 on the HBO TV series Game of Thrones.
