Discovering Base Ball Bear's Journey
How the Band Started
The band began with four friends who loved music. They first formed a group called "Planet." This was just for one show at their high school's culture festival. But everyone loved their performance so much! The friends also had a lot of fun playing together. So, they decided to keep making music.
Choosing a New Name
After their start, the band sent their demo tapes to record labels. A record label is a company that helps musicians record and sell their music. Toshiba EMI advised them to change their name. They chose "Base Ball Bear" from a song by the singer Chocolate called "Base Ball" and also from the famous singer Elvis Presley.
Who Plays What
Today, the band has three main members. Yūsuke Koide is the lead singer and plays the guitar. Shiori Sekine plays the bass guitar and sings backing vocals. Daisuke Horinouchi plays the drums and also sings chorus parts. A former member, Shōhei Yuasa, used to play the guitar with them. He left the band on March 2nd, 2016.
