Basen Murmu (9 April 1987 – 8 June 2020) was an Indian emerging popular singer in the Santali film and album world.
Basen Murmu was born in Barhajian village of Bijtala block in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. His parents were Naran Murmu and Maina Murmu. He was married to Mamta Murmu. Bhagyalakshmi Murmu is his only daughter.
Basen Murmu died at the young age of 33. On 8 June 2020, he suddenly collapsed and was taken to Rairangpur Government Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead.
