Beamsville is a small, unincorporated community in Darke County, Ohio, in the United States. An unincorporated community means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town. It's located in the central part of Richland Township.

Beamsville is found near where U.S. Route 127 crosses the Stillwater River. It's about 6 miles north of Greenville. Greenville is the main city and the county seat for Darke County.

How Did Beamsville Begin?

Beamsville has an interesting past. It was officially "laid out," or planned, in 1837. A man named John Beam was responsible for this. The community was then named after him.

Early Services in Beamsville

In the early days, a post office was very important for communities. Beamsville got its own post office in 1839. This office helped people send and receive mail for many years. It stayed open and served the community until 1905.
