The Bear River is a small river located in the U.S. state of Washington. The upper part of this river is also known as Bear Branch. It is an important waterway in Pacific County.
The River's Journey
The Bear River, sometimes called Bear Branch, starts its journey near the mouth of the mighty Columbia River. It begins in a hilly area known as the Bear River Range and the Willapa Hills.
From its source, the river generally flows towards the north and then west. It eventually empties into the southern part of Willapa Bay. This bay is a large, shallow body of water on the Pacific coast.
