Beata Tyszkiewicz (born on August 14, 1938) is a famous retired Polish actress and a well-known TV personality. She is often called the First Lady of Polish Cinema.
Her Acting Career
Beata Tyszkiewicz has starred in over one hundred films! She is especially known for playing elegant ladies in movies set in the past. Two of her most famous roles were in The Doll and The Ashes. She worked with many top directors, including Andrzej Wajda, who was also her husband for a time.
Her very first movie was Zemsta in 1956. Later, in 1968, she played a main role in The Doll, which was based on a famous Polish book.
Beata Tyszkiewicz was also a judge at the Moscow International Film Festival several times. She even received a special award there in 1995. Many people in Poland also know her from being a judge on the popular TV show Dancing with the Stars (called Taniec z gwiazdami in Poland).
In 2017, she had a serious health issue. After that, she decided to step away from public life and retire from acting.

Beata Tyszkiewicz comes from a noble family. Her father was a Count, which is a special title. She has two daughters.
In 1998, she was honored with her own star on the Stars Avenue in Łódź, Poland. This is a special place where famous people's names and handprints are celebrated.
