Career as a Librarian and Historian

Beatrice Doran has worked in many different libraries. She worked at Ulster University and University College Cork. She also worked at the Royal Dublin Society.

In 1986, she became the chief librarian at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). She worked there for many years until she retired in 2007. She was also the president of the Library Association of Ireland for a time. This is a group for librarians in Ireland.

Besides her library work, Beatrice Doran is also a historian. She loves learning about the past. She has been a leader in the Cork Historical and Archaeological Society. She is also a member of several other historical groups.
