Beau Ryan (born 11 May 1985) is an Australian television presenter, actor, and singer. He is also a former professional rugby league footballer. He played for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks and the Wests Tigers in Australia's top league, the National Rugby League.
Beau Ryan is well-known for his funny segments on The Footy Show. He announced his retirement from rugby league on 5 June 2014, because of a neck injury. Later that year, he released a song called "Where You From?" with Justice Crew.
Today, Ryan hosts Network 10's reality show The Amazing Race Australia. He also co-hosts the sports competition series Gladiators Australia with Liz Ellis.

Beau Ryan's Early Life
Beau Ryan has some Irish family background. He grew up in a place called Albion Park. As a young player, he played junior football for Wests Illawarra.
In 2003, Beau was chosen to play for the New South Wales Schoolboys team. Two years later, in 2005, he won the Jersey Flegg Cup with the St. George Illawarra Dragons team. He later left the club to find more opportunities to play in the main team.
Beau Ryan's TV and Radio Career
Starting in 2009, Beau Ryan began appearing regularly on The Footy Show. He would do funny segments for the show. In 2010, he started his own comedy part called "Beau Knows...".
He also created two popular characters. One was DJ Yallah, an Egyptian-Australian DJ from Bankstown. The other was Donnie Palmer, a trainer for the Titans team who loved doing stretches. He also made funny sketches about other rugby league players.
His former coach, Tim Sheens, once said that Beau enjoyed doing television on his days off. He said it was fine as long as it didn't affect his football playing. Beau continued to have a bigger role on The Footy Show in 2012.
Beau Ryan has also worked in advertising for different clothing brands.
In 2017, Beau started filming a movie called “Chasing Comets”. This movie was about both rugby league and Australian rules football. It was written by another former rugby league player, Jason Stevens. Beau played a rugby league player named Tom in the movie. The film came out in cinemas in Australia and New Zealand in 2018. It was shown on Network 10 in 2019. This was Beau Ryan's first time acting in a film.
In 2018, Beau co-hosted a morning radio show with John Stanley. This was on the Macquarie Sports Radio network. Beau later left the show and was replaced by former footballer Mark Riddell.
In 2019, Beau Ryan was announced as the host of Network 10's new version of The Amazing Race Australia. He took over from Grant Bowler, who hosted the show before.
In January 2022, Beau Ryan was a contestant on the eighth season of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! Australia. He left the show on day 14.
In October 2023, it was announced that Beau Ryan would host Network 10's new version of the sports entertainment show Gladiators Australia. He hosts it alongside Liz Ellis.
In 2025, Beau Ryan will co-host a morning radio show for Triple M Sydney. He will be joined by Aaron Woods and Natarsha Belling.

Beau Ryan's Rugby League Career
Playing for Wests Tigers
Beau Ryan joined the Wests Tigers team and played his first game in 2007. He played two more games that year and scored a try in his second game. The next season, he played in 15 games.
From 2009 onwards, Beau Ryan was a regular player on the wing for the Wests Tigers. He scored his highest number of tries that year, with 13. This included seven tries in the last four games. After this, Ryan signed a contract to stay with the Tigers until the end of the 2012 season.
Injuries affected Beau Ryan's season in 2011. He did not play in his usual wing position until round 14. He still managed to score 8 tries in the 13 games he played after that. This included the final try in a big game against St George Illawara. The Wests Tigers came back from being behind to win that game.
Beau Ryan started the 2012 season by scoring 4 tries in his first 3 games. Later in the season, he also played in other positions like centre and fullback. Many people thought he was one of the most improved players in the game. He was one of the few players to play in all 24 games for the club in 2012, scoring 9 tries. He ran with the ball 310 times that year, which was among the top players in the NRL. At the end of the season, he was chosen to play for the Prime Minister's XIII team.
Beau Ryan had announced on The Footy Show that he would stay with the Tigers. However, he later signed a three-year contract with the Cronulla Sharks. Ryan explained that he had agreed to a deal but never received the official papers to sign.
Playing for Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks
Beau Ryan began playing for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the 2013 NRL season.
On 5 June 2014, Beau Ryan announced his immediate retirement from rugby league. He made this announcement on The NRL Footy Show. He retired because of a continuing neck injury.
Beau Ryan's Music Career
Beau Ryan released his first song called "Where You From?" on 19 September 2014. The song featured the group Justice Crew. It was released by Sony Music Australia. The song reached number 19 on the ARIA Singles Chart.

Beau Ryan's Personal Life
Beau Ryan and his longtime partner, Kara Orrell, announced in August 2012 that they were expecting their first child and were engaged. The couple got married on 14 October 2012. Their daughter, Remi, was born in January 2013. Beau's son, Jesse, was born in July 2017.
