The Beaumont Children's Museum is a fun place designed just for kids! It's a children's museum that helps young people learn through play. Right now, it's in a temporary spot inside the Beaumont Civic Center in Beaumont, Texas.

This museum is part of a group of museums located close together in downtown Beaumont. You can find it right across the street from the Tyrrell Historical Library, the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, and the Texas Energy Museum. The Edison Museum and the Fire Museum of Texas are also just a few blocks away.

History of the Museum

The Beaumont Children's Museum began in 2008. It started as a special kind of group called a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This means it's run for a good cause, not to make money.

In 2010, the museum started offering exhibits. At first, it was a "museum without walls." This means they held events and activities in different places. In 2012, they found a building in downtown Beaumont. However, that building was later found to be unsafe and had to be removed.

After that, the museum went back to being a "museum without walls." It kept offering fun programs around the city. In 2014, it moved into its current temporary home at the Beaumont Civic Center. The museum officially opened its exhibits there in the summer of 2015. You can find the main entrance on the north side of the civic center building.
