The Beaumont Children's Museum is a fun place designed just for kids! It's a special museum located in the Beaumont Civic Center in Beaumont, Texas. Here, children can learn and explore through exciting hands-on exhibits.

This museum is part of a group of museums in downtown Beaumont. It's close to the Tyrrell Historical Library, the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, and the Texas Energy Museum. The Edison Museum and Fire Museum of Texas are also nearby. This makes downtown Beaumont a great spot to visit many different museums!

History of the Museum

The Beaumont Children's Museum started in 2008. It began as a nonprofit organization. This means it's a group that works for a good cause, not to make money.

In 2010, the museum opened its first exhibits. It was called a "museum without walls" back then. This meant it didn't have a permanent building. Instead, it brought its exhibits to different places.

In 2012, the museum tried to get a permanent home. They found a building in downtown Beaumont. However, the building was later found to be unsafe. It had to be taken down.

After that, the museum went back to being a "museum without walls." It kept offering fun activities in various locations. In 2014, it found its current temporary home. This is the Beaumont Civic Center. The museum officially opened its exhibits there in the summer of 2015. You can find the main entrance on the north side of the civic center.
