Beckville began a long time ago, in the year 1828. The area was named after Solomon Beck. He was the person who originally owned the land where Beckville was built.
For a while, people in Beckville had their own post office. It first opened its doors in 1854. However, the post office didn't stay open forever. It closed down about 11 years later, in 1865.
