How Belinda City Became Part of Mt. Juliet
Before 1990, Belinda City was an "unincorporated area." This means it was a community that did not have its own city government. It was just a part of Wilson County. This area was located along a road called Belinda Parkway. It was just southeast of the city of Mount Juliet.
In 1990, something important happened. The city of Mount Juliet officially "annexed" Belinda City. To "annex" means a city takes over and adds a nearby area to its own boundaries. This was done through a city rule called ordinance 1990–10. After this, Belinda City became an official part of Mount Juliet.
